MEET+THE+BYE+BYE+BIRDIE+CAST%3A+Annie+LeGrand

In the up-and-coming production of Bye Bye Birdie this spring, Annie LeGrand stars as Kim MacAfee, the young girl who Conrad Birdie’s last kiss before deployment will be bestowed upon.

We asked her a few questions about her musical journey and what she’s looking forward to most:

Blueprint: What is your role in the musical?

Annie: Kim MacAfee.

Blueprint: Why did you choose to participate?

Annie: I love theater and I always have. I’ve been doing musicals since I was young, and I love being on stage.

Blueprint: What is your favorite thing about being in the musical?

Annie: My favorite things are being surrounded by new people and enjoying the time I have with them.

Blueprint: Have you participated in previous musicals before?

Annie: I’ve been in multiple musicals throughout my lifetime whether that was in school or church.

Blueprint: What can the audience expect from this performance of Bye Bye Birdie?

Annie: I feel this musical will bring a lot of laughter.

Blueprint: Did you know about Bye Bye Birdie before the musical was decided upon?

Annie: Yes, when Mrs. Haul was teaching, we watched it in music theater.

Blueprint: Who do you think the audience’s favorite character will be and why?

Annie: Miranda’s character, Mrs. Peterson, is such a fun character and she’ll bring a lot of laughter.

Blueprint: Give us your best pitch on why people should come see the musical.

Annie: Bye Bye Birdie is such a fun musical to watch, as well as be in. We have all been working very hard! I feel like it’s not a musical a lot of people know, so it’ll be a good experience.

Congratulations Annie, and we can’t wait to see what you bring on stage!
