MEET THE BYE BYE BIRDIE CAST: Collin Matthews

MEET+THE+BYE+BYE+BIRDIE+CAST%3A+Collin+Matthews

In the up-and-coming musical production of Bye Bye Birdie this spring, Collin Matthews will star as Hugo Peabody! In the show, Hugo is Kim MacAfee’s strait-laced boyfriend. He’s seen throughout the show trying to stop Conrad Birdie from kissing Kim.

We asked him a few questions about his musical journey and what he’s looking forward to most:

Blueprint: What is your role in the musical?

Collin: Hugo Peabody

Blueprint: Why did you choose to participate?

Collin: It seemed fun and most of my family did musicals.

Blueprint: What is your favorite thing about being in the musical?

Collin: Definitely rehearsals. I get to act with my friends!

Blueprint: Have you participated in previous musicals before?

Collin: Naw.

Blueprint: What can the audience expect from this performance of Bye Bye Birdie?

Collin: A story of love and triumph.

Blueprint: Did you know about Bye Bye Birdie before the musical was decided upon?

Collin: Naw

Blueprint: Who do you think the audience’s favorite character will be and why?

Collin: Either me because my character is funny and humorous or Albert Peterson who is played by Jacob Caracciolo because he is a really goof actor.

Blueprint: Give us your best pitch on why people should come see the musical.

Collin: Come see us have a great time performing and me making a fool of myself!

Congratulations Collin! We can’t wait to see you in the production!
