The Lady Blue Devil volleyball team traveled to Greater Johnstown Thursday night. The girls swept the Trojans with scores of 25-9, 25-8, and 25-9.
This improved Bellwood-Antis to 5-2 on the year.
BA dominated on the court with the help of Bella Myers, Johanna Heckman, and Addy Turek. Myers produced 20 service points while adding seven kills.
Heckman connected for 12 points. She had six aces and six digs. Addy Turek contributed with 10 kills and five blocks.
The Lady Blue Devils now head to the St. Francis Invitational tournament, Saturday the 14th.
Cross Country Splits Against Penns Valley
On Wednesday, the BA girls cross country team picked up a win over Penns Valley at home while the boys lost.
The Lady Devils, who remained undefeated this season at 3-0, were led by sophomore Blake Pennington’s second-place finish, just 7 seconds behind Penns Valley’s Lillyana Smith.
The Lady Devils had seven girls finish in the top 10 – Julie Kraft (4), Peyton Hammond (6), Chloe Stoltzfus (7), Rowan Kyle (8), Ava Franks (9) and Karley Dickinson (10). Their depth was the factor in the 5-point victory (27-32).
On the boys side, junior McCaulley Corle was the Devils’ top place-winner, finishing in 5th. Martin Fatzinger came in just behind him in 6th, Keegan Shanafelt was was 7th and Dominick Halerz 10th, but the boys lost 18-39.
