Last weekend, the Bellwood-Antis volleyball team won the silver bracket of the Saint Francis University High School Volleyball Tournament, beating Bellefonte in the championship.
“It feels great to win. The competition was good,” said senior Johanna Heckman. “It was really exciting to finish our senior year with a win at Saint Francis.”
The Lady Devils started in their Silver pool play playing 4 teams, Ferndale, Westmont Hilltop, DuBois, Huntingdon, and Chestnut Ridge. They went 3-1 in their pool play games, giving them a good seed heading into the playoffs.
There, they defeated Central in the quarterfinals (25-22), and Chestnut Ridge in the semifinals (26-16) before taking down the Lady Raiders in the Silver championship game (25-19).
Forest Hills won the Gold Division and Penn Cambria won the Bronze Division.
