“It’s definitely a lot of work to maintain my grades while participating in all of my extracurriculars,” says senior Lily McNelis.
McNelis juggles countless extracurriculars while still striving to maintain Honor Roll. She’s the BluePrint’s latest Super Senior.
She is a part of the volleyball team, the track team, French Club, mini-THON, NHS, Key Club, Renaissance, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Scholastic Scrimmage, and she’s even trying her hand at swimming this year. McNelis always strives to make improvements to her skills, and this year she hopes to improve on her mile and two-mile times in track.
McNelis has also set a goal to maintain Honor Roll for the school year.
“It’s very rewarding,” she said when asked about her struggles. “I like getting to interact with so many different people with different interests.”
McNelis says she enjoys chemistry and math because it’s easy to know when you’re doing something right or wrong. She also enjoys how easy the material is for her to understand.
McNelis’s favorite teacher is Mr. McNaul because he manages to make his classes fun and puts in an effort to get to know his students’ interests beyond school.
“Despite his awful taste in sports teams, he is fun to talk to,” she said.
Outside of school, McNelis enjoys photography, listening to music, going shopping, and hanging out with her friends and family.
As a senior, McNelis has set her sights on attending college in the future. She hopes to get accepted into her top schools where she could further her education.
Whether it’s at college or high school, McNelis is dedicated to her education and pursuing her interests.
