Jayce Quick, Bellwood-Antis’s standout thrower, has officially committed to Saint Francis University. Saint Francis competes in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) which is at a Division III level.
Quick is planning on throwing in shot, discus and possibly hammer and weight.
When asked about what stood out about the track program he stated, “The coaches and athletes were extremely friendly.”
B-A football and track and field coach Nick Lovrich said Quick’s success is even more impressive considering he didn’t come out for the sport initially when he moved into the high school.
“He was a guy who came out for track late, and he’s really blossomed into one of the top throwers in the area,” Coach Lovrich said.
Quick has been a crucial part of the B-A track and field and football teams. He recently was named the honorable mention offensive line for the LHAC All Conference. Last spring, Quick also made it to Districts in all three of his events. He is expected to have another amazing year of track and could possibly break school records in some of his events.
“Jayce has worked very hard on becoming the best version of himself both as a football player and track athlete,” Coach Lovrich said.
Quick is planning on majoring in nursing.
“It will be cool to help people who cannot help themselves,” stated Quick when explaining why he is going into nursing.
Choosing Saint Francis was an easy choice. “Saint Francis has really nice facilities for my program. I am really looking forward to starting this new chapter in life,” Quick said.
Coach Lovrich liked that Quick would be able to compete once again with a couple of other B-A track and field athletes also running for the Flash – Dylan Andrews (2024) and Holden Schreier (2025).
“It’s nice to see him go to SFU and join some of his former teammates,” he said.
We wish Jayce the best of luck in his future plans and goals!
