B-A CTC students move on to states!

Four B-A students have advanced to states through their programs at the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center!

Tara Baker, Aaron Miller, Christina Longenbacher, and Brett Tipton have all moved on to the next level in their respective fields.

Baker and Miller have qualified for states in SkillsUSA District 7.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and businesses working to provide America with a skilled workforce. More than 300,000 students and instructors in 14,000 chapters nationawide take part in SkillsUSA annually.

Tara will advance through Cosmetology and Aaron will advance through Outdoor Power Equipment.

Longenbacher and Tipton have qualified for states in the Distributive Education Clubs of America  District Competition.

DECA, unlike skills, is more of industry-validated competitive events that are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism.

Christina will advance through Retail Marketing/Entrepreneurship and Brett will advance through Logistics & Materials Management.

The state competition is on March 1st. Good luck to everyone involved!
