The French club, run by French teacher Mr. Timothy Van Scoyoc, held its annual French restaurant in the gym lobby on November 2. Approximately 40 people went to this event.

The French restaurant is a fundraiser for the French Club, as well a learning experience for students to discover more about French cooking and culture.

Mr. Van Scoyoc thinks that this event benefits the French Club students.

French Club students helped to prepare much of the cuisine on the menu.

“It gives them a better understanding of French cooking and culture. It also gives them experience of teamwork and planning and cooking French meals,” he said.

Cynthia Baldwin, a sophomore, thought that the restaurant was a good experience for her. She said it also benefited her as a student.

“It helped me learn more French and cook French dishes and how to communicate to adults,” Cynthia said.

Mr. Van Scoyoc expressed thanks to Home Economics teacher Mrs. Valerie Harris for helping prepare and cook for the French restaurant, as well as music teacher Mrs. Beth Hull for playing piano for this event.
