Recently, Mr. Burch and his wife adopted a dwarf pitbull, also known as a mini-pitbull or pocket pitbull. They named the dog Bailey even though it was originally named Stormy.

They also already had a dog named Baxter before they adopted Bailey.

“We always wanted to save or dramatically change a dog’s life and we love pitbulls. I didn’t want a full size pitbull living in town but she is a dwarf plus, full grown at 32 pounds,” Mr. Burch said.

They found the dog at Darrah Bull Bully Rescue. The dog was at a shelter in Georgia two weeks before they found it at the rescue.

Although there have been some challenges. Mr. Burch said Bailey is getting used to her new environment.

“Having a new dog in the house is a little more effort, attention, and work to keep both dogs happy. Baxter didn’t like her at first, but he is coming around,” said Burch.

Mr. Burch’s wife was involved in the process of getting the dog because of one of her friends that fosters for Darrah’s and she was on the lookout for a smaller pitbull. Her friend contacted her two weeks ago.

In all, the process has been an inspiration for Mr. Burch.

“I absolutely recommend someone rescuing an animal. Save a dog’s life. It is sad to see how many wonderful animals don’t even get a chance in life”
