It is time to tackle cancer yet again.

This year, the Bellwood Antis National Honor Society (NHS) is joining together with Southern Huntingdon’s NHS to have a Pink-Out game with the proceeds going to local families afflicted by cancer.

Southern Huntingdon’s NHS advisor, Jeff Mills, reached out to Bellwood’s newly appointed advisor, Ms. Alice Flarend, with this idea. Ms. Flarend recently took over the advisor position from Mrs. Sally Padula and she was a little nervous but acknowledged the help she recieved from the NHS officers, Gwen Dougherty, Alivia Jacobs, Cassidee Reiter, and Brandie Ray.

“Truly, the officers jumped on this and organized everything and are selling the t shirts, so that’s made it significantly less scary,” she commented.

The game will take place on October 26 at the Southern Huntingdon high school football field. The short sleeve shirts will cost $9 and the long sleeve shirts will cost $12.

The funds that Bellwood raises will be donated to a foundation that is near and dear to the hearts of the BA community, the Brian Morden foundation while Southern Huntingdon’s proceeds will go to one of their teachers battling testicular cancer. So make sure you’re at the game, and you’re wearing pink!
