Brooke Cmar and Jake Stapleton were student volunteers at the most recent Blood Drive sponsored by the Leo Club at Bellwood-Antis High School.

The Bellwood-Antis Leo Club sponsored Blood Drive Friday in B-A’s middle school gymnasium.

Leo Club sponsors a blood drive two times a year, one in the fall and one in the spring. The Leo Club selects one member to be the recipient of a scholarship that is based on units of blood donated. Jake Stapleton was chosen this year.

Jake received $250 from the fall blood drive and then earned another $250 with the turnout on Friday. (See phot gallery below to view photos from the event)

“It was a great turnout,” Leo Club advisor Ms. Sue Kovensky said.

Many Bellwood-Antis students helped out the cause, either by donating time as part of the Leo Club, or by donating blood.

Kelcie Dennis, a sophomore, said, “I think it’s a good way to give back. You never know who might need blood! At the end of that day, you feel great knowing that you helped someone.”

Along with Kelcie, others felt that donating blood was a great thing to do!

Amanda Partner, junior, agreed with Kelcie that donating blood can save a life.

Thank you to all of the donors, the Red Cross, and the helpers of the blood drive!
