Jack Luensmann won in a pitching duel against Claysburg last Thursday, throwing 6 1/3 innings for the ICC win.

The Bellwood-Antis baseball team split their pair of games at the end of last week.

On Thursday the Blue Devils played an important conference game at home against Claysburg, and Jack Luensmann found himself in a pitching dual with Claysburg’s Corey Chamberlain.

The game was scoreless for the first few innings until Arik Shildt gave Bellwood the lead with an RBI single. Luensmann threw 6 1/3 innings and held the Bulldogs scoreless.

Bellwood got themselves some insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th to stretch their lead to 4-0.

The game ended on a double play to seal the deal for the Blue Devils on senior night.

The Devils were back at it on Friday as they hosted undefeated Philipsburg.

The final score might indicate a lopsided game, but errors were a killer for Bellwood. The Blue Devils got down early and PO continued to score.

The Mountaineers ended up 10-running B-A by a score of 15-3.

The Blue Devils are now 5-3 on the season.

The next game for Bellwood will be played at Williamsburg as the Devils take on the Blue Pirates in an ICC game.

Good luck to the baseball team.
