Members of the Bellwood-Antis band attended a County Band Workshop at Claysburg-Kimmel last week.

Last Wednesday and Thursday 12 Bellwood-Antis musicians attended Claysburg-Kimmel’s County Band Workshop event to learn about techniques and skills from mentor instructors from Penn State.

Wednesday was woodwinds day.

Penn State mentors included Naomi Seidman, David Stambler, and Langston Fitzgerald III.

Freshman Lindsey Brinkman said, “I really enjoyed the extra time to learn new and harder skills, and I also enjoyed the amazing teachers and staff that let us attend.”

Band director Mr. Patrick Sachse said, “This workshop was a great learning opportunity! Each student had a clinician who gave instrument specific tips. This was a new formula for the festival, and we’re excited to continue the new tradition.”

Students from Bellwood participating ranged from high school to middle school. Students included: Kaelyn Toland, Abi Eckenrod, Alysa Isett, Lindsey Brinkman, Jayden Maines, Cyler Briggs, Paige Henderson, Julie Craft, Evelyn Toland, Colin Neary, Gabe Gummo, and McKinley Buckner.
