The girls will take on Tyrone in the first round of District VI 2A playoffs away on Thursday night.

Coming into this matchup these teams have faced off once before this season, the matchup resulted in a Tyrone win sweeping Bellwood 3-0. In the first set Bellwood was able to make it a competitive match losing the set 25-23.

After going down one set the girls lost the next two 25-12 and 25-18. Bellwood hopes to keep their energy up through every set and be competitive.

Senior Miranda Tornatore says that the team has been practicing very hard this week and is excited they get the second chance to prove themselves. “I believe we have what it takes to win, we just need to apply it and want the win,” she said.

Bellwood finished with a record of 11-9 and ranked 10th in the 2A rankings, Tyrone ended with a record of 11-7-1. They are ranked 7th in the 2A rankings.

The winner of this game will move on and play 2-seeded Forest hills on October 31.
