The Blue Devils come up short against Central

Monday night the Blue Devils traveled to Martinsburg to play Central. The Scarlet Dragons came out on top 48-28 and handed Bellwood a second loss in less than a week. The Blue Devils dropped to a record of 4-13.

Bellwood came out and played the first quarter competitive. B-A almost matched Central and was only trailing by one point after the period.

The second quarter was were Central started to pull away. The Scarlet Dragons scored 14 in the period and kept Bellwood under 10 points.

The Blue Devils trailed 21-14 at halftime, but Bellwood was still in reach of a second half comeback.

The game was almost a mirror of what happened last week in a 54-25 Blue Devil loss against the Scarlet Dragons.

Central crushed all hopes of a B-A resurgence with 16 points in the third quarter. The Scarlet Dragons kept up their great defense allowing just 9 points.

The Blue Devils offensive production was led by Chance Schreier with 11 points. Bellwood didn’t have another player reach 5 points.

B-A was behind 37-23 at the start of the fourth quarter. Bellwood tried their best, but Central didn’t let up on the defensive side of the ball and won by 20.

The Blue Devils’ next game is Wednesday at Hollidaysburg.
