The Bellwood-Antis Bocce team recently finished its season with a 2-1-2 record.

The Blueprint Athlete of the Week this week is the Bellwood-Antis Unified bocce team!

Last week the bocce team had the opportunity to compete in the District 6 playoffs. They went up against Altoona and Penn Cambria with a chance to advance to the PIAA tournament.

Although they ended up losing in the playoffs, the bocce team still had a great season. They finished the regular season as the 3rd place team in the District, and only lost one meet this season. They ended up with a 2-1-2 record. Their two big wins came against Hollidaysburg and in the Backyard Brawl versus Tyrone.

“Going to the playoffs was a great experience, but the relationships that were built were even more impressive,” said coaches, April Cramer and Shannon Elder.

The bocce team welcomed many new members this year. The new rollers are Cooper Lovrich, Lily Hardman, Logan Ridgway, and Julia Johnson. The returning members include Noah Larson, Parker Lucas, Jacob Miller, Vincent Daughenbaugh, and Maddy Pulcinello.

The season was challenging, as many of the players were learning to play for the first time. The team had to work together to improve, and coaches were impressed with their effort.

“We saw a lot of growth in the game, but also personally. I’m really proud of how all of the players got along and helped each other,” noted Mrs. Cramer and Mrs. Elder.

Congratulations on a great season!
