The Blue Devils found themselves in a game long battle with the Mountaineers last night at home on Senior Night. The game went back and forth, and the B-A student section provided the high energy atmosphere.
However, the Devils’ offensive deficiencies continued to plague them as they dropped their 15th game with a 44-38 final score.
Seniors Holden Schreier and Hunter Simmons, along with senior members of the cheerleading squad, were honored in pregame ceremonies.
Both teams quickly got to work on offense. The first quarter ended with a 12-10 B-A advantage.
Schreier lead the Blue Devils offense with 10 points. The Mountaineers were able to tack on 12 more in the second to give them a 22-21 lead at the half.
“It felt good to be back playing again and contributing to the team, but coming up short yet again is frustrating,” Schreier stated.
P-O came out strong in the third quarter adding 15 to their point total while limiting B-A to just eight.
Lucas Peterson guided the Mountaineer’s offense. He registered 20 points on the night. Connor Matier followed in his footsteps with 11 of his own.
The Blue Devils fought their way back in the fourth by only being down two at one point. However, P-O hit a series of crucial foul shots that iced the game at the 44-38 final.
The boys now host Hollidaysburg Wednesday at 7:00. The Tigers are 14-2 on the season and won their last matchup against B-A 57-25.
