Bellwood-Antis has a new media center Aide: Mrs. Makayla Hollen.

Mrs. Hollen has been working at Bellwood since August 2023. She originally was a special education aide.

Last month, she switched to being the Media Center Aide.

“I loved my job being an aide, but when the position came available, I decided that I was ready for a new chapter in my career,” she said.

Mrs. Hollen is taking over for Brittany Solomon, who resigned back in January.

Mrs. Hollen went to Glendale Jr./Sr High School, graduating in 2013. Her post-secondary school was the  Greater Altoona CTC, where she studied Horticulture and Environment Science before the program got cut because of funding. 

When Mrs. Hollen isn’t working at the media center; she is usually running her kids to their activities or enjoying a good movie. Mrs. Hollen is happily married and has three kids, all of whom attend school at Bellwood-Antis: Autumn, Winter, and Summer. Autumn is 14, Winter is 10, and Summer is 8.

One of Mrs. Hollen’s hobbies are crocheting; she crochets blankets and dish rags. 

Mrs. Hollen hopes to create a warm and welcoming environment to the media center for the students that come into the media center.
