An avid golfer and animal lover: Mr. Hughes

The month of May’s middle school teacher feature is Mr. Brent Hughes!

After graduating from Bellwood-Antis in 2003, Mr. Hughes attended Pennsylvania State University and majored in Kinesiology along with physical education.

It’s a small, tight-knit community that allows you to form long lasting relationships with students and parents.

Working as the middle school gym/health teacher, along with high school Driver Ed., he has worked at Bellwood-Antis for a total of 7 years.

Mr. Hughes says that the best thing about Bellwood-Antis and his job is that he has the chance to work with young people from his hometown.

“It’s a small, tight-knit community that allows you to form long lasting relationships with students and parents,” he said.

What does he do in his downtime?

Hughes tells us he likes to spend time with his fiancé Christina Probst, who is a teacher at Myers Elementary. He also finds time for his dogs along with playing basketball and golf.

“One thing people may not know about me is that I used to have hair,” said Mr. Hughes.

Through health and physical education, Mr. Hughes feels that he gives students the opportunity to move and be active, and have fun all at once while learning in a non-traditional environment.
