Janiyah Jackson has committed to Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a major in psychology.
Located in Indiana, Pennsylvania, IUP College is a public research university. She chose IUP due to it being cheaper and having a really good psychology program.
“I think I will adapt to this new environment pretty well. I’d like to think I get along well with others,” said Janiyah.
With her degree, she hopes to start doing social work with a BA, and eventually start doing clinical work. A BA (Bachelor of Arts degree) is a 4 year college degree that covers general education and allows students to specialize in an area of interest.
When asked about how Bellwood has impacted her educational career, she said, “Bellwood has given me options to explore many choices that eventually led me to what I want to do.”
As for advice she would give to underclassmen, Janiyah recommended trying all the options available and explore.
“Explore all your options and branch out from what the normal is. There are so many careers to choose from.”
Good luck to Janiyah and her future goals!
