The senior girls took a hefty loss in the annual powder puff game, but they had fun and made memories for a good cause.

Sunday afternoon, the senior girls faced off against the junior girls in the annual powderpuff football game. The juniors looked dominant all game and pulled out a 33-0 win.

The powderpuff football game is an yearly tradition to help raise money for the Special Olympics. It is sponsored by the Key Club.

The juniors game-plan was to run the ball and they did a great job in the first half. Briley Campbell, Rowan Kyle, and Avah Hassler ran all over the seniors and ended up in the endzone three times.

“I thought we all played well together and it was a lot of fun,” said Campbell.

The juniors took a 21-0 lead into halftime.

The second half was just as lopsided for the juniors as they added two more scores.

“The players played great. We had very few mental mistakes, but the coaching could have been much better and that is on me and Chance,” said senior coach Josh Dorminy.

The seniors had a promising drive going late in the fourth quarter, but the time ran out and they went scoreless.

This year’s seniors had actually won the game last year as underclassmen, 36-6. Now the junior of 2023-2024 will have an opportunity for an undefeated powderpuff career next fall.
