B-A was ahead 36-35 midway through the fourth quarter before Jackson Foster made a three for Huntingdon that gave the ‘Cats a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. The Devils cut it to 40-38 on a basket by Schreier but were forced to foul down the stretch.

Bellwood vs Somerset

Friday night, B-A hosted Somerset in a boy’s and girl’s varsity basketball doubleheader. The boy’s team won 69-42 in dominant fashion to improv their record to 1-1.

The Blue Devils ended the first quarter with a slim lead over Somerset.

Caracciolo ran into foul trouble early, which led to underclassman getting valuable playing time.

Bellwood had a great second quarter, scoring 24 points to Somerset’s 12.

The Blue Devils led 44-25 at halftime.

Junior Holden Schreier led the Blue Devils in scoring with 22 points on 90% shooting. Caracciolo and Conner Bardell also reached double digit points with 14 and 13, respectively.

The Devils kept their foot on the gas in the second half and outscored Somerset 26-17.

A key to Bellwood’s success was its ability to get rebounds, which wasn’t a strong suit in the first game of the season. Seniors Kole Dickinson and Vincent Cacciotti grabbed 11 and 7 respectfully.

The Blue Devils cruised to a 69-42 victory and got in the win column for the first time this year.
