The B-A unified bocce team ended a successful season yesterday by competing in the District 6 playoffs.

Tuesday night the Bellwood-Antis unified bocce team traveled to Central Cambria to participate in the District 6 playoffs.

The teams were battling for a birth into the PIAA tournament.

The Blue Devils team lost their matches against Penn Cambria and Altoona 2 and finished in 4th place. Altoona 1 finished 1st in the and will advance.

Unified Bocce is a PIAA sport run in conjunction with the Special Olympics. The team is composed of athletes eligible for Olympics and those who are not.

B-A began its program in 2018, and since then many area schools have adopted the sport, as well.

Despite the losses at playoffs the team had a great year with wins over Hollidaysburg and Tyrone.

The team is coached by Mrs. Shannon Elder and Mrs. April Cramer.
