This week Jeffrey Paul Waite drew one of the best pieces of art known to man. The detail in Jeffrey’s drawing is immaculate and truly show off his talent as an artist.
He drew this during his English class for a Shakespear project. His image depicts his overall “idea” of Shakespeare’s room, his true artistic imagination shines through.
This drawing is really representative to a quote written by Edgar Degas. The quote states ““Art is not a matter of what you see, but what you represent.”
This quote represents Jeffreys drawing more than most realize. It’s not what you see on the paper, it’s about the effort behind the art. His art represents more than what’s on the piece of paper, but the effort/imagination poured into it.
Jeffrey worked on this for almost an entire period.
Jeffrey gets his inspiration off of a real-life experience. He states, “I visited his room (Shakespeare) in real life and wanted to draw it.”
Yes, the drawing might not be one of the “best” in the school, but it’s like the quote stated earlier. It’s not what he depicts on the paper, it’s the true hard work given behind the scenes.
Jeffrey states, “I never considered myself an artist, I just picked up the piece of paper and drew what was on my mind. Yes, you can see the imperfections, but that’s what makes it great. Its raw and real, that is real art.”
