Girls Volleyball suffers loss against Tyrone in the Backyard Brawl
In a back and fourth game that could’ve lasted all night, the girls volleyball team suffered a heartbreaking loss against Tyrone on Monday at the high school gymnasium.
The match lasted five sets, and the final set, typically played to 15, had a total of 48 points scored. The Lady Eagles took the third set 25-23 to earn the victory.
Rylan Crowell had 21 kills for the Lady Eagles, and Abigail Anthony contributed 26 digs.
Hayden Taylor had 10 digs and 10 assists for the Lady Blue Devils, and Lauren Marinak added 15 service points.
B-A won the first set before Tyrone tied it with a win in the second and then jumped to a 7-0 lead in the third before winning 25-17.

Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis soccer team improves to 8-1 against Penn Cambria winning 2-0.
Tyrone’s Tytus Novak contributed the two goals for Tyrone. His first goal was assisted by Tyrone’s Rowan Moore, and the second assist went to Tyrone’s Cameron Coffee.
“Im super proud of everyone on the team and stepping up to win these eight games,” stated Bellwood’s Cameron Nelson. “Our team has come a long way from only winning a couple games, to winning eight.”
The Golden Eagles record this year is 8-1 and they tied last years record of 8-10-1 in their first 9 games.
The Golden Eagles next play Thursday September 24 at Harry K. Sickler Athletic Park against Somerset.
