In sports action last night both Bellwood Basketball teams faced off against the Huntingdon Bearcats.

The Lady Devils walked into the Jungle and escaped with a win while the Devils were home and were overcome by the Bearcats in a close one.

Boys Basketball

After a hard last couple games for the Devils, in which they extended their losing streak to 10, they had the more formidable opponent in Huntingdon.

The devils were only down by 10 at half and were able to battle back in the third but Huntingdon was able to control the glass and get some shots to fall to defeat the Devils 55-44

The Devils drop to 3-11 and the Bearcats improve to 8-6.

Scoring wise both Jackson Dorminy and Colin McClellan lead the Devils with 10 a pop.

While for the Bearcats Caleb Rutter had a game high 19 points.

The Devils will be away tomorrow at Bishop McCort.

Girls Basketball

The Bellwood-Antis Lady Devils improved to 8-5 with a 52-41 defeat against Huntingdon.

With this win this marks win number 570 for interim Jim Swaney who formally coached the Lady Devils but recently took over.

Lilly Gerwert led the Lady Devils up 10-4 after a single quarter, with 19 points and 7 blocks. Sophomore Izzy added 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Devils’ next game is tomorrow away in a double header against Bishop McCort the girls are at 6 and boys follow after at 7:30.
