Sarah Knisely, Kyra Woomer, and Katlyn Farber prepare to head to practice at Juniata Valley in preparation for Region III band.

Bellwood-Antis musicians Kaitlyn Farber, Sarah Knisely, and Kyra Woomer are attending the PMEA Region 3 Band Festival, where they will audition to advance to all-state band!

This week is the PMEA Region III Band Festival! It will be held at Juniata Valley School District, with the concert starting Saturday, March 12 at 11 a.m.

“A festival like this is a challenge for underclassmen, which makes it a great learning experience. I would like to see this set th stage for the future All-State musicians” said B-A Band Director Mr. Sachse.

Kyra was nervous but was excited to be performing with such a talented group.

“I’m very nervous. I’m only a sophomore, so being able to perform with such a talented group is great and semi-stressful,” said sophomore Kyra Woomer “ I believe that going to regionals will allow me to play with a great group of people who are dedicated to the music in front of them.

Kaitlyn was happy to get over the auditioning.

“Auditioning for a spot to go to states is nerve racking. Just preforming for a complete stranger on its own is scary,” said sophomore Kaitlyn Farber. “Going to regionals will allow me to strengthen my skills and surround myself with wonderful music.”

The guest director is Timothy A. Paul, who is the director of bands at IUP.
