On Monday, the B-A boys and girls track teams both picked up two wins in their meet against Huntingdon and Bishop Guilfoyle. For the boys, they beat Huntingdon with a close score of 79-71, and BG, 138-11. The girls beat Huntingdon, 97-53, and BG, 140-9.
The Blue Devils had two competitors that won two different events. Sophomore Cameron Nelson won the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles, and junior Jayce Quick got wins in shot put and discus. Nelson ran a time of 17.6 in the 110m, and 43.8 in the 300m. He was also the first leg in the 1600m relay that got first place. Quick threw for a distance of 45-1 in shot put, and 147-11 in discus.
Blake Pennington for the Lady Blue Devils won the 1600m run and the 3200m run. She had a time of 5:51 in the 1600m, and in the 3200m ran a 13:38.6. Pennington also placed second in the 800m, with her time of 2:41.8. Freshman Ella Cherry got a win in the 100m dash, running an impressive time of 13.2. Junior Lilly Gerwert won high jump with a height of 4-8. Sophomore Olivia Rishel had a jump of 8-6 in pole vault to secure first place.
Both teams from B-A won the 1600m relay and the 3200m relay. The boys had a time of 3:44.4 in the 1600m, and a time of 12:27 in the 3200m. For the girls, they won with their time of 4:42.7 in the 1600m, and 12:50 in the 3200m.
Looking ahead, Bellwood-Antis will participate in the United Invitational Meet on Saturday. The top two people in each event will compete and represent B-A. Good luck to those that are competing!
