At 15-2, Philipsburg-Osceola is going to enter the District 6 3A playoffs as the No. 2 seed with as good a shot as anyone at winning the title.
But as good as the Lady Mounties are, they haven’t been able to figure out Bellwood-Antis.
The Lady Devils handed P-O its second loss of the season Thursday, dealing the Lady Mounties a 2-0 loss in extra innings in Philipsburg.

The win was the seventh in the last eight games for B-A, which improved to 14-4. It followed up on the 10-0 loss they handed P-O in March in the first game of the season.
Tied 0-0 in extras, Abby Clabaugh delivered a double in the top of the eighth inning to plate Karlie Sweigart and then scored herself when Palynn Gregg came through with a hit that gave B-A a little breathing room.
Pitcher Laney Stinson shut down P-O in the bottom of the eighth in a manner similar to the rest of the game to secure the win. Overall, the freshman fanned 12 and scattered 4 hits while walking only 2.
P-O’s Macie Bush matched Stinson throw for throw. While she struck out just one, she allowed only six hits and surrendered only 2 free passes. Only sophomore Hayden Taylor was able to register multiple hits against her.
The Lady Devils, which have the No. 2 position in 2A securely in hand, are scheduled to host Central today, weather permitting. When the teams played in April the Lady Devils won 14-0.

Blue Devil Softball is scary. So scary in fact that there most recent opponent, Penns Valley, did not even bother showing up. I love hearing about all their success.

I agree! I expect some hardware to be added to the trophy case!
