With merchandise sales and donations officially opening for Bellwood-Antis’ annual Sideline Cancer/Homecoming Game to benefit local families affected by cancer. This year’s cancer warriors benefitting from Sideline Cancer fundraising are Mark Miner, Ethan Zook, and Tina Brubaker.
Here are some things to know ahead of the big events:
Homecoming Parade and Game
The Homecoming football game will take place on October 3 at 7 p.m. against Bishop Guilfoyle.
The parade lineup will form at Hillside Community Church starting at 4:50 p.m., with step off occurring at 5:00. The parade will follow the traditional route beginning at the church and proceeding down South 2nd Street, turning right on to Boyles Street, turning left on to South 1st Street, and finally left on to Martin Street, where the parade will end at the high school/elementary school.
Shirts, hoodies, Dri-Fit shirts, and bracelets are now available for purchase to show your support for the parade, and the Homecoming/Sideline Cancer Game that will be held October 3rd at home, against Bishop Guilfoyle. Purchases can be made online prior to September 29, but if you miss the deadline, a limited quantity of shirts will be available at the game for an increased price. All merchandise can be purchased online by clicking here.
Shirt sales through the Homecoming Court have been on the up as recapped by an article published last week, meaning the raised total is expected to be a record breaker for Bellwood’s Sideline Cancer events.
Also, following the parade until the first quarter of the game, tickets will be on sale for nearly 50 baskets that will be raffled off to contribute more money to the total raised for this game’s Sideline Cancer cancer warriors, who are Mark Miner, Ethan Zook and Tina Brubaker. $10 (cash only) will get you a strip of 25 tickets for a chance to win!
Homecoming Dance
The Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, October 4 from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at its usual venue, Myers Elementary. Tickets are $10 and are on sale now and will be sold until Thursday, October 2. Just a reminder that no tickets will be sold at the door and if you plan to bring a guest from another school, you must have the proper form filled out and turned in prior to purchasing tickets. Forms can be found outside of Mrs. Stinson’s room. Guests must also remember to bring a form of ID in order to get admitted to the dance.
