“The front line plays such a huge part in being able to run the ball and stop the ball.  On both sides of the ball our guys have been moving the line of scrimmage in our favor,” head coach Nick Lovrich.

Bellwood ran for a total of 324 yards and held West Brach to a total of 48 rushing yards.

The Devils’ overall record now is 6-1, while they dropped the Warriors’ record to 4-3.  Bellwood is now sitting in third place behind Richland and Ligonier Valley in the District 6 2A standings.

Shawn Wolfe was the first to get the Devils on the board with an 81-yard touchdown, followed by a one of seven PATs by Alex Schmoke.

In the second quarter Wolfe ran for another touchdown and Alex Frederick scored as well to push the lead to 21-0 by halftime.

In the third quarter Bellwoods’ as Zach Mallon returned an interception 40 yards for a score, and Caden Nagle recovered a fumble and took it to the house.  TJ Wyland also got a pass from Shawn Wolfe for 48 yards and the score to make it 42-0.

In the fourth John Kost had the last scoring play of the game, breaking away for a 43 yard touchdown.

Wolfe led the team in rushing, racking up a total of 119 yards off of 10 carries.

“(Our linemen) have done a good job of being quick off the ball and sticking with their blocks or penetrating in the opponent’s backfield,” said Coach Lovrich.  “Our backs have done a good job of reading their blocks and hitting the holes hard.  Our success of both sides of the ball have been a total team effort.”

The Devils will now face Mount Union on Friday at home in another ICC clash.
