Coach Tim Andrekovich has high expectations for this year’s wrestling team.

With eight returning letter-winners, it’s easy to understand why.

The Blue Devils return plenty of experience and quality to their lineup, including 2018 regional qualifier Evan Pellegrine at heavyweight.

Mr. Andrekovich, in his second year as the varsity coach, said his goals this year are to get better every time the team steps on the mat, to win as many dual meets as possible, and to place well in individual tournaments.

One of his main focuses is to get the boys ready for the post-season, districts, regionals, and states. Mr. Andrekovich said the team’s leaders hip was very good.

“The guys are working hard and pushing each other to get better everyday,” he said. “The team is bigger than normal, requiring wrestle offs at 6-7 weight classes.”

Pellegrine leads the way but he willbe joined in the starting lineup by lettermen Ty Noonan (138), Zach Cunningham (170-182), Tyler McCaulsky (132), Dominic Caracciolo (195), Lnndon Bungo (152-160), and Aiden (152-160)and Alex Taylor (160-170).

For the first time in a long time the Devils will be able to fill out a roster on a nightly basis and not give up forfeit points. The entire roster looks like this:

Mr. A’s final expectations for the season are to have guys on the podiums at each of the tournaments they go to.
