Zach Amato is spreading his wings during his junior year, though his only goal was to survive.

Zach Amato is a junior at Bellwood-Antis High School who competes in wrestling, track and field, and speech league.

His favorite activities are wrestling and battling it out in field events. Zach Amato made it to the Igloo Invitational meet last Saturday in his first year of track. He threw the javelin 119 feet, 8 inches and finished 11th.

The BluePrint: How do you feel about going to the Igloo meet your first year doing field?

Zach: I have a lot to improve so I’m going to try to not do the worst.

Zach is in speech league qualified for the national competition. The Blueprint asked him how the season went.

“It went pretty well and I’m looking forward to Nationals,” he said.

Zach belongs to a couple clubs at Bellwood-Antis, including NHS and Chess Club. His favorite club is Chess Club.

When he is out of high school Zach wants to go to college for Criminal Justice.

Zach’s Favorite accomplishments from this year are Making Honor roll and making some good friends.

The BluePrint: Did you come into the junior year with the mindset of doing more?

Zach: No, I came in the mindset to survive the year and so far I think I’m doing well.
