Mrs. Grassmyers takes her turn in the bocce team’s practice game against B-A school employees.

On Wednesday, the Bellwood-Antis unified bocce team took on their first challenge of the year. After the school day,  the team competed in a scrimmage against B-A superintendent Mr. DiSabato, P.E teacher Mr. Nick Lovrich, Officer Tim Mercer, Officer Jeff Hanna, and Ms. Denise Benner, and Ms. Susan Grassmyer from the District Office.

With both teams giving it their best, the team of faculty and staff managed to defeat their opponents by a score of 7-3. Many words were spoken back and forth between the two teams, primarily consisting of friendly banter. Although there was some heckling, both teams encouraged one another to come out and play hard.

The bocce team’s first game remains to be this Monday at 3:30 p.m. This scrimmage was a true test for the team, and now they know how hard they’re going have to come out and play in order to be victorious.
