The Bellwood-Antis boys basketball team hosted their senior night on February 9, matching up against Phillipsburg-Osceola and earning a 53-48 win.

Philipsburg got out to the first 3 points of the game before Conner Bardell responded with an easy layup on a fast break. From there on it was back and forth throughout the rest of the first half. Going into the half Bellwood was down 21-20.

To start the half, Bellwood came out hot. The Blue Devils capitalized on a weak Philipsburg offense in the third quarter, outscoring the Mounties 20-10. Philipsburg tried to make a run in the fourth quarter, but the Bellwood defense was able to hold them to 17 points, which was not enough to overcome the deficit.

Anthony Caracciolo led the charge with 15 points and 7 rebounds while Bardell had 12 points, and Holden Schreier had 11.

There were 8 seniors recognized before the varsity game: Bardell, Vincent Cacciotti, Caracciolo, Kole Dickinson, Brady Gotshall, Chance Schreier, Corry Shanafelt, and team manager Chloe Brown.

A Senior Night slide show is available here.

Chance Schreier was still recovering from an ankle injury and was unable to play, but he started the game and fouled before getting subbed out.

Corry Shanafelt was not able to play due to getting ejected in the game prior.

B-A ended its season 7-15 and missed out on the District 6 3A playoffs.ray
