Palynn Gregg will be B-A’s primary pitcher this season.

This week’s BluePrint Athlete of the week is this year’s starting pitcher for the Bellwood-Antis softball team, Palynn Gregg.

Palynn is just a freshman, but she has shown that she has what it takes to make an impact on the team right away, so much so that she was given a shot at being one of the team’s primary starting pitchers along with London McKee.

As a first-year varsity player, there’s a lot of pressure on Palynn, and while she is excited for the season, she said she feels a bit nervous.

Palynn has all the tools and experience needed to be successful this season. She first started playing softball in 2017, and she plays on multiple travel teams in the summer. In the off-season, she also takes hitting, pitching, and fielding lessons in order to get better and prepare her for this moment.

When asked on her goals this season, Palynn said, “To lose by a little and win by a lot.”

After the softball team went just 1-15 last season, Palynn and the Lady Blue Devils will be looking to get a few more wins this season. As an eighth grader, Palynn helped lead the junior high team to a 13-7 record in 2023.

Congratulations and good luck, Palynn, and good luck this season!
