Tina Hollen is already one of the top tennis players on the varsity team, and she will be on the varsity basketball team this winter.

Freshman Tina Hollen is this week’s Athlete of the week!

If you know Ana, you most likely know about her younger sister, Tina. Both are in tennis, and both are great, but this week’s spotlight is all on Tina, who last week won three singles matches playing for the Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis tennis team.

Tina also is a member of the varsity basketball team.

Q: What made you want to join tennis?
A: My mother has been trying to get me to play all my life and eventually I gave in.

Q: What is your favorite sport?
A: Tennis.

Q: Does it come easy to you? Is it a lot of work?
A: No, I worked hard to get where I am now.

Q: Do you like playing singles or doubles?
A: Both, but my preference is singles.

Q: Does tennis help you in other sports?
A: Yes, tennis requires tons of footwork which will help me in basketball.

Q: How do you balance sports and grades?
A: I try to study and do homework on the bus and when my teammates play.

Q: How do you like being on a team with Ana?
A: It’s a blessing and a curse. For one she’s my ride to practice, but she’s also extremely bossy and can be a huge pain.

Q: Who’s better, you or Ana? Who has more potential?
A: As of now, Ana’s better, but in a few years I could definitely beat her.
